about

A few days ago I learned of The Antikythera Mechanism. An ancient hand powered Greek analogue computer which has also been described as the first example of such a device used to predict astronomical positions and eclipses for calendar and astrological purposes many decades in advance to what was previously known. This is several thousand years old and only a few exist AND this is the current understanding of this phenomenon. What ancient mysteries does mankind still have to unveil to us? What more can we accomplish through science? This ancient device inspired me to write a new Queen Mammoth song. Art can be influenced by many things, including science and history. Keep learning all you can learn. On Thursday, May 21st, 2020, I wrote, performed, programmed and recorded “The Antikythera Mechanism.” Enjoy!
